QC Inspector (Welding, NDT & Painting)

Role Overview

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Senior Welding Inspector certification: CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-SCWI; equivalent international certifications accepted.
• Painting Inspector certification: BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Level 2; equivalent international certifications accepted.
• NDT Level II certification in RT, MT, UT, and PT (ASNT/ACCP); equivalent international certifications accepted.

Experience and Technical Knowledge

• At least 10 years of similar Oil & Gas sector experience for graduate engineers or 15 years for diploma holders; GCC experience is desirable.
• Sound knowledge of welding, NDT, heat treatment, painting, coating, and associated quality, inspection, testing requirements, and acceptance criteria for process plants and cross-country pipelines.
• Familiarity with relevant standards and practices, including ASTM, API, AWS, ISO, BS EN, SSPC, NACE, IOGP, Shell DEP, and MESC specifications.
• Hands-on experience qualifying, testing, and monitoring procedures, systems, and personnel across welding, NDT, heat treatment, RTRP, painting, and coating.
• Experience with different materials and metallurgies, including Inconel, DSS, SDSS, Ni, and Cr, and with various welding processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• API 570, API 936, RTRP, or other API Inspector certifications are advantageous.
• Formal training in QA/QC functional aspects and QMS Internal Auditor is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding, NDT, heat treatment, painting, and coating activities against quality requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Support quality inspection and testing for major oil and gas process plant and cross-country pipeline construction.
• Qualify, test, and monitor welding and heat treatment procedures.
• Qualify, test, and monitor RTRP and painting/coating systems.
• Qualify and monitor welders, NDT technicians, blasters, painters, and laminators.
