The QA/QC Engineer – MEP oversees quality assurance and quality control for MEP works associated with electrical substation projects.
The role ensures compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, ITPs, method statements, and applicable standards.
Experience and qualification
- Required experience: 9–15 years.
- Minimum qualification: Bachelor of Engineering (BE).
Skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of MEP systems, testing and commissioning procedures, and local authority requirements.
- Standards named include IEC, NFPA, and ASHRAE.
- The posting lists construction inspection, MEP, NDT, quality assurance, and testing among its skills.
Inspections and technical review
- Inspect and audit HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, transformer auxiliary, oil handling and filtration, diesel generator, lighting, power distribution, earthing, cable containment, and associated infrastructure systems.
- Review material submittals, technical approvals, test reports, and shop drawings for compliance.
Quality control and coordination
- Prepare and manage inspection requests, material inspection requests, quality records, test reports, and commissioning documentation.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, vendors, and project teams; monitor installation and testing.
- Identify non-conformities, track NCRs, verify corrective and preventive actions, and conduct internal quality audits.
- Support factory and site acceptance tests and close punch-list items and quality observations.
- Work with construction, commissioning, engineering, procurement, planning, and HSE teams to support execution and handover.
