QA/QC Engineer

Role purpose

Quality delivery

• Implement project QA/QC plans, ITPs, method statements, and quality procedures.
• Monitor earthwork, embankment, subgrade, GSB, WMM, bituminous works, drainage, structures, and road furniture.
• Inspect construction stages and confirm compliance with drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Coordinate inspections and testing with clients, consultants, subcontractors, site engineers, and laboratories.
• Inspect materials before use and review certificates, test reports, inspection reports, and quality records.
• Witness and coordinate field and laboratory tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt/bitumen, and other materials.
• Monitor FDT, sieve analysis, Proctor, CBR, concrete, bitumen/asphalt, density, and other relevant testing.
• Raise and close NCRs and observations; ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed.
• Prepare inspection requests, checklists, reports, and records; support audits and project handover.
• Monitor equipment calibration, identify preventive measures, and contribute to quality meetings and improvement initiatives.
• Prepare quality dossiers and final documentation for completion and handover.

Experience and qualification

• The posting specifies 8–15 years of required experience.
• Minimum qualification listed: Bachelor of Technology (BTech).
• Relevant experience in QA/QC for EPC, road, highway, or infrastructure projects; road construction quality control, material testing, inspection, and documentation are preferred.
• Ability to work at project/site locations under tight project timelines.

Technical skills and standards

• Road/highway construction quality control, QA/QC procedures, documentation, ITPs, method statements, and checklists.
• Earthwork, subgrade, GSB, WMM, bituminous/asphalt, concrete, and drainage works; material testing and laboratory coordination.
• NCRs, corrective and preventive action, quality audits, and documentation.
• Knowledge of IRC, MORTH/MoRTH, IS, ASTM, and AASHTO standards, as applicable.
• Construction drawing, specification, and contractual quality requirement interpretation.

Competencies

• Strong understanding of road construction processes and quality requirements.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, documentation and reporting skills, and effective stakeholder coordination.

Work setting

• The role is based at project/site locations.
