General Description

This role is responsible for managing all Construction Services activities related to the technical aspects of both current and new projects.

The position focuses on business development and profitability by fostering strong client relationships, effectively communicating, and delivering integrated solutions that enhance safety, improve performance, and ensure cost efficiency.

In addition, the role oversees day-to-day operational activities to ensure smooth execution and timely project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent, customer-focused service delivery by conducting regular site visits and maintaining strong client relationships. Drive proactive and sustainable service sales within the dewatering sector.
  • Develop and implement project-specific sales and operational strategies tailored to key clients and applications in dewatering, groundwater control, and site water management.
  • Efficiently lead, plan, and optimize the dewatering service operations team, ensuring cost-effective performance while upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify after-sales opportunities and enhance service offerings for dewatering systems and equipment.
  • Engage in direct client interactions and technical sales discussions; flexibility to travel as needed for project supervision and client support.
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of financial planning, cost control, and project budgeting for temporary and permanent dewatering solutions.
  • Manage supplier negotiations for dewatering equipment procurement, including pumps, piping systems, and monitoring instruments.
  • Identify and manage environmental planning and compliance requirements, ensuring all dewatering operations meet regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively across stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making abilities with a focus on setting priorities, delegating tasks, and optimizing investment in workforce and operational systems.
  • Maintain participation in and support the successful closing of contracts in the organization’s favor by providing technical, engineering, and practical insights during the initiation phase and throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Handle clear direction and objectives for team members and ensure the achievement of their development plans.
  • Support the general manager in setting budgetary controls and key performance indicators to safeguard the financial and operational health of the Company.
  • Establish a proactive approach to identifying and addressing problems and opportunities; escalate relevant matters to the General Manager and facilitate productive discussion and deliberation.
  • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, staff, and third parties as the primary point of contact, representing the company and maintaining strong working relationships across all levels. Support the General Manager in establishing budgetary controls and key performance indicators to ensure the financial and operational health of the company.
  • Accountable for ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of all projects following contract award.
  • Works closely with internal project stakeholders assigned to resolve any project risks associated with contracts, documentation & execution.
  • Ensure filing of legal and regulatory documents and monitor compliance with all relevant laws and regulations to implement prescribed project standards, including QHSE standards.
  • Accountable for delivering all projects post contract award on time, every time, in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Participate in and facilitate contract closures in the organization’s favor by providing technical, engineering, and practical judgment during initiation and throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the General Manager in setting budgetary controls and key performance indicators to safeguard the company’s financial and operational health.
  • Conduct any other tasks or projects assigned by the direct line manager.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent from an internationally recognized University.
  • Studying in surveying / engineering or MRICS would be an added advantage.
  • Certified in a management field would be advantageous.
  • Proven work-related experience of 10 years. Among which 4 years as a Managerial experience, are typically required.
  • Extensive knowledge in Construction services encompassing strategic planning, negotiating (with 1+ years forward focus).
  • Demonstrable management experience in Construction or Engineering industry with high turnover and activity.
  • Ability to oversee medium to large scale projects independently from an end-to-end perspective.
  • Determining budgets, setting of operational procedures, client and service provider negotiations etc. (which would all be necessary in running the operations).
  • Financially savvy and a politically astute leader.
  • Ability to set clear priorities, delegate, and guide investment in people and systems.
  • Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making.
  • Excellent team skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively across a variety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions.
  • Basic skills in IT and strong skills in communication, client liaison, decision making, team supervision and conflict resolution.
  • Possess a strong technical background in dewatering with hands-on experience and the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve treatment systems.
  • Capable of performing field-level tasks, including system installation, maintenance, repair, and optimization of dewatering system performance.
  • Experienced in handling various water qualities, flow rates, and soil conditions relevant to dewatering operations.
  • Valid driving license in the country of working residence.
  • The travel percentage mandated for this role is 30 %.
  • Good computer proficiency and ability to deliver reports.
  • Good ability to work within a team to achieve results.
  • Ability to work under pressure, work flexible hours to meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills in English language.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks on time.
