The Project Manager delivers electrical substation projects, including 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, and distribution substations.
The role covers initiation, engineering coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
Projects must meet contractual requirements, specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, client expectations, schedules, and budgets.
Project delivery and leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary civil, electrical, mechanical, commissioning, QA/QC, HSE, planning, procurement, and subcontractor teams.
- Manage clients, consultants, utility authorities, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Plan resources and schedules; control costs, risks, contracts, progress reporting, and recovery plans.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues, monitor milestones, and drive quality and HSE compliance.
Project controls and closeout
- Manage budgets, evaluate variations and claims, optimize resources, review deliverables, and oversee procurement and material availability.
- Lead progress meetings, monitor subcontractors, support testing and commissioning, and close punch points and NCRs.
- Oversee as-built documentation and project closeout reports.
Requirements and qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE).
- Extensive experience managing high-voltage substation and EPC projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
