Role objective
Ensure project engineering activities are completed within stipulated time, quality, and cost requirements and adhere to the L2 execution schedule.

Coordinate civil, structural, MEP, and instrumentation disciplines and allocate work and man-hours across project roles.
Project delivery and coordination
- Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager to align deliveries with the project schedule.
- Conduct regular project reviews and internal resource-optimization meetings to support schedule adherence and productivity.
- Review designs, calculations, and drawings and ensure timely submissions after customer approval.
- Resolve vendor issues and support timely material delivery to the project site.
- Clarify design issues with inter-discipline managers and support site execution teams with technical and commercial issues, including bill processing.
- Implement BIM and support supply chain procurement and vendor engineering order finalization.
- Support BOQ preparation, review pre-bid offers and technical submissions, and provide post-tender clarifications to contracts teams after vendor clarification.
- Lead design leads, design engineers, and draughtspeople; review technical vendor evaluations and facilitate manufacturing clearance with suppliers.
Technical expertise
- Requires overall expertise in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects and thorough understanding of GIS and AIS substations up to 765 kV.
- Requires equipment selection expertise for power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers.
- Requires substation primary and secondary design knowledge covering earthing, lighting, lightning protection, cabling, schemes, wiring diagrams, SCADA, control systems, and interfaces with civil, MEP, and instrumentation.
- Requires understanding of project execution across geographies, clients, and utilities, equipment, vendor engineering markets, and contractual technical requirements.
Language and software
- Must be able to read, write, and speak Arabic for networking with government and local companies.
- General awareness of MS Office is required.
- Awareness of ETAP, PSCAD, CYMGRD, and project planning tools is desirable.

Internal stakeholders include the Head of Engineering, inter-discipline heads, project execution, supply chain management, quality, and contracts teams.
External stakeholders include customer engineering and project management teams and vendor engineering and quality teams.
Value drivers include on-time delivery, timely approval of engineering service levels, man-hour management, monthly invoicing, quality and cost savings, skill development, digitalization, successor development, standardization, productivity, and bid strike rate where applicable.
