Role responsibilities
- Lead the quality function across SMT, THT, PCBA testing, conformal coating, and FATP/box build operations.
- Establish and maintain QMS compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.
- Drive customer quality, complaint management, 8D reports, corrective actions, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure IQC, IPQC, OQC, and supplier quality assurance processes are implemented effectively.
- Lead NPI quality planning, engineering builds, process validation, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans as applicable.
- Monitor manufacturing quality, defect trends, process capability, yield, and product reliability.
- Use 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, SPC, and CAPA methods for root-cause analysis.
- Lead supplier improvement, supplier audits, incoming defect reduction, and supplier corrective actions.
- Comply with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, ESD controls, and workmanship standards.
- Maintain quality dashboards and review KPIs with Production, Engineering, SCM, and Management.
- Lead internal, customer, and certification audits; close findings on time.
- Maintain traceability, inspection records, defect tracking, and data integrity through MES/SAP systems.
Team and improvement
- Develop team competency, training plans, skill matrices, and inspection standards.
- Drive continuous improvement, defect prevention, cost-of-poor-quality reduction, and process standardization.
- Build a zero-defect culture and ensure conforming products meet customer requirements.
Key performance indicators
Track first-pass yield, customer and supplier PPM, internal defect rates, complaint closure, and CAPA effectiveness.
Monitor incoming quality acceptance, cost-of-poor-quality reduction, audit closure, NPI quality readiness, rework and scrap, and training compliance.
Track traceability and process audit compliance, and reduce repeat defects and critical escapes.
Suggested targets include 98% first-pass yield, 95% CAPA effectiveness, and 100% on-time complaint and audit closure; other measures follow customer or supplier targets or call for continuous improvement.
