Ensure project engineering activities are delivered within schedule, quality, and cost targets and adhere to the L2 schedule.
Develop optimizations and alternatives for faster project delivery while maintaining positive margins.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate civil, structural, MEP, and instrumentation disciplines; allocate work and man-hours.
- Coordinate with project planning and conduct regular project and resource review meetings.
- Review designs, calculations, and drawings and secure approvals for timely submissions.
- Resolve vendor and inter-discipline design issues and support timely site material delivery.
- Review quantities, bills of materials, bid offers, technical submissions, and post-tender clarifications.
- Implement BIM and support supply-chain order finalization and vendor engineering.
- Lead design leads, design engineers, and draftspeople; review vendor evaluations against client specifications.
- Support site teams on commercial matters and bill processing; facilitate manufacturing clearances and clarify client deliverables.
Technical expertise
- Expertise in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects, including GIS/AIS substations up to 765 kV.
- Proficiency in selecting power transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and instrument transformers.
- Knowledge of earthing, lighting, lightning protection, cabling, schemes, wiring diagrams, SCADA, control systems, and interfaces with civil, MEP, and instrumentation.
- Understand project delivery across geographies, clients, and utilities; equipment and vendor-engineering markets; and contractual technical requirements.
- Read, write, and speak Arabic.
- General awareness of MS Office is required; ETAP, PSCAD, CYMGRD, and project planning tools are desirable.
