Project Engineer

Role purpose

Business context

Project planning and delivery

• Prepare detailed civil works schedules with site and project managers; coordinate and oversee project activities against established plans.
• Review engineering drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and documents and recommend approval based on project requirements.
• Coordinate cable route engineering with site and design teams and obtain client and authority approvals.
• Manage site civil engineers and supervisors to complete project tasks in line with schedules.
• Monitor resource use and ensure allocation within the project budget.

Approvals and site coordination

• Coordinate client inspections and obtain regular certification of work progress.
• Compile site execution documents for client inspections, records, and invoice submissions.
• Coordinate and accompany government authorities and RTA officials to sites to obtain final project clearance certificates.
• Interpret geotechnical reports as required.

Quality, risk, and reporting

• Monitor project progress, address deviations, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Anticipate and manage technical challenges and unforeseen project execution issues.
• Inspect civil construction and structures for compliance with specifications and oversee testing and validation for durability and safety.
• Communicate with clients, team members, and management; provide progress reports and presentations.
• Maintain organized technical drawings, reports, correspondence, and project documentation for future maintenance and reference.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
• RTA approval for project works in Right of Way.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant electrical project experience.
• Three years of supervisory experience is desired.
• Building structure and transmission line tower design experience is desirable.

• Proficiency in civil engineering software, project management tools, relevant industry standards, and authority regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and decision-making under pressure.
