MEP Coordinator

Role purpose

Design and technical coordination

• Coordinate MEP activities with architectural, structural, and other disciplines; review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical submissions.
• Lead coordination meetings and resolve design clashes and constructability issues during design and construction.
• Coordinate shop drawings, builders' work drawings, and as-built drawings; ensure MEP systems are integrated within project requirements.

Documentation and project coordination

• Oversee MEP documentation preparation, review, approval, and distribution; track schedules, submissions, RFIs, technical queries, deliverables, and approvals.
• Coordinate material and technical submittals and maintain document control and revision management.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders; monitor progress, support site teams, and assist project managers with technical issues.

Compliance and quality

• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, codes, project specifications, safety standards, contract requirements, and engineering standards.
• Review design deliverables and shop drawings for quality, identify design risks, and recommend mitigation.
• Support inspections, commissioning activities, and project handovers.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 6–8 years of MEP coordination experience in construction projects and proven mid-rise and high-rise building project experience.
• Experience with MEP contractors, developers, consultants, or main contractors; UAE/GCC experience is preferred.

Technical skills

• Strong MEP systems knowledge, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, ELV, and BMS.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM Coordination Tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and HAP Software; Navisworks is preferred.
• Ability to coordinate shop drawings and technical submissions; understanding of MEP calculations, engineering principles, system integration, authority codes, and standards.
• Experience in clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
