Plan and assign work to design engineers for HVAC, fire protection, lighting, small power, ELV, plumbing, and drainage design.
Responsibilities
- Plan, monitor, control, and correct project design activities to ensure timely delivery.
- Manage resources and oversee time, cost, quality, and design delivery performance.
- Maintain issue logs and historical design-issue records, tracking cost and schedule impacts.
- Track schedules, prepare weekly progress reports, and conduct and document weekly team progress reviews.
- Update design plans weekly and monthly with the Project Manager; coordinate changes to costs and plans with project and divisional managers.
- Track client approvals for MEP design work and maintain daily design-team activity logs.
- Issue technical clearance for manufacturing, FAT, dispatch, and client inspection-certificate activities.
- Work with the ESCO team to incorporate energy-saving measures into MEP designs.
- Provide technical training to develop team members and the Design department.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering; postgraduate study in either field is desired.
- At least 7 years of MEP design experience on residential and commercial towers and industrial buildings.
- At least 4 years of managerial MEP design experience on such projects in the UAE or another GCC country.
- ESCO industry experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of MEP systems, engineering and construction practices, and authority regulations.
- Proficiency in HAP, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, DIALux, AMTECH, and CABLE PRO.
- Thorough knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and drainage design; strong electrical design and problem-solving skills.
- Team leadership skills and experience producing efficient, cost-effective MEP designs.
- Willingness to conduct site visits and attend client meetings; valid UAE driving license required.
