Project EHS planning and leadership
- Prepare EHS documents, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
- Lead EHS meetings with the client and project team and report EHS issues to head office.
- Prepare EHS and environmental management plans.
- Prepare EHS conditions of contract for subcontractors.
Site safety and training
- Conduct daily EHS inspections for the assigned zone and identify high-risk areas.
- Ensure engineers and supervisors obtain safe work permits from clients or main contractors.
- Ensure engineers deliver weekly toolbox talks and promote EHS awareness.
- Provide induction training to new workers and training programs for engineers and workers.
- Ensure personnel wear required PPE and check ladders and scaffolding before use.
- Promote housekeeping and suitable worker health, hygiene, water, rest-area, lighting, and ventilation conditions.
Risk, incidents, and emergency response
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment for critical activities and ensure method statements address findings.
- Conduct job EHS analysis for high-risk activities.
- Investigate incidents and accidents with engineers and communicate findings to workers and engineers.
- Administer first aid or seek medical assistance when workers are injured.
- Prepare emergency preparedness plans and conduct emergency drills.
- Stop unsafe work and promote prompt action on unsafe practices.
Systems, audits, and reporting
- Establish, monitor, and coordinate the integrated health, safety, and environment management system for construction projects.
- The description references ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Coordinate external EHS audits and third-party equipment inspections.
- Conduct project risk management audits monthly and system audits quarterly.
- Maintain EHS documentation and report EHS performance to project and IC heads.
