Role Overview
Principal Marine Engineer based in the Qatar Engineering Office.
Lead concept, front-end, and detailed design for major port and marine infrastructure projects.
Provide technical leadership and design expertise to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead marine and port infrastructure design activities.
- Design jetties, dolphins, quay structures, dredge layouts, breakwaters, and revetments.
- Ensure designs comply with project specifications and international codes.
- Apply shipping and navigation principles in design development.
- Design berthing and mooring infrastructure.
- Perform pile and quay wall design using geotechnical principles.
- Guide and mentor engineering teams.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Maritime Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in marine and port infrastructure design.
- Proven experience leading complex marine engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and structural design for marine environments.
- Knowledge of BS6349, EC2, EC3, EC7, AISC, and ACI318.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities are preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are preferred.
- Ability to deliver projects within schedule and budget constraints is preferred.
Engagement Duration
- The stated engagement duration is 12–18 months.
