Personal Trainer

Position summary

Fitness and recreation duties

• Assess individuals’ current exercise programs and fitness levels, develop personalized exercise programs, and provide fitness counseling.
• Advise individuals on correct exercise methods and fitness equipment use.
• Provide recreation activity information; register and schedule guests.
• Contact maintenance or an outside service company when machines require service.
• Maintain cups and water in the recreation area and promote a fun, relaxing atmosphere.
• Promote facility rules and regulations for the safety and welfare of guests and members.

Guest service and operations

• Welcome guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express appreciation.
• Communicate professionally, prepare and review written documents, answer telephones, and maintain positive working relationships.
• Process payments for recreation activities, equipment rentals, facility rentals, or retail sales.
• Identify, recommend, develop, and implement ways to improve organizational quality.

Team, safety, and standards

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
• Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
• Follow company policies, maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Required qualifications

• CPR certification.
• First Aid certification.
• Fitness equipment knowledge.
• Any certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is listed as preferred.
• Less than one year of related work experience is listed as preferred.
• No supervisory experience is listed as preferred.

Schedule

• Full-time schedule.
