Duties and responsibilities
- Take patient histories relevant to eye and visual complaints.
- Perform refraction to determine corrective refractive power and achieve best-corrected visual acuity.
- Report detected or suspected eye abnormalities, including amblyopia or cataract, to the attending ophthalmologist.
- Counsel patients on proper use of glasses and contact lenses, including risks of unsafe contact-lens use.
- Manage and monitor eye conditions independently or with other healthcare professionals; recognize signs of general conditions such as diabetes.
- Fit spectacles and contact lenses; discuss vision matters and help patients choose frames and lenses.
- Follow occupational safety and health rules, use equipment and PPE safely, report hazards and incidents, and apply risk controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least one year of UAE experience required.
- DOH license required.
Pay
- Pay from AED 1.00 per month; this stated amount may be a listing anomaly.
Work location
- Work is in person.
