Own technical quality, subcontractor coordination, and budget control across chiller plants, distribution networks, and Energy Transfer Stations (ETS).
Responsibilities
- Review and approve mechanical designs, hydraulic calculations, and chiller plant, pump, TES, and piping layouts against applicable standards.
- Review subcontractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and QA/QC plans.
- Manage on-site subcontractor productivity, safety, and quality.
- Track procurement and quantity variations, evaluate progress payments, and manage project variations and bottlenecks.
- Resolve RFIs, design clashes, and site queries; coordinate schedules and mitigate procurement and installation issues.
- Review shop drawings in AutoCAD and coordinate MEP clashes.
- Oversee TAB, pressure testing, flushing, commissioning, and handover documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Master’s degree or PMP is a plus.
- At least 8 years of experience, including 5+ years in district cooling in the UAE or Middle East.
- Strong knowledge of centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, primary/secondary pumping, TES tanks, plate heat exchangers, and pre-insulated steel/HDPE piping.
- Proven experience evaluating subcontractor submittals, claims, and variations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Civil 3D or Revit preferred.
- Familiarity with Pipe-Flo, KYPIPE, HAP, B31.3/B31.9, or NFPA is listed; these are not stated as mandatory.
- Knowledge of Dubai and Abu Dhabi DoE and ADM regulations, Estidama, ASHRAE, and ASME.
- Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
Pay
- Pay is stated as AED 10–15 per month.
