Role overview
Manage marine surveys from initial notification through completion from the Dubai office.
The role covers draft, container, cargo, and bunker surveys, marine incidents, and P&I claims.
Responsibilities
- Attend surveys and complete survey work in-house where possible.
- Review and respond to correspondence from P&I club principals and members.
- Prepare survey reports that meet P&I club requirements.
- Maintain timesheets and records of work and related expenses.
- Coordinate third-party contractors and engage them when required.
- Build relationships with local shipowners and agents to promote marine surveying services.
- Meet monthly financial targets and improve working practices and service quality.
Requirements
- Professional background as a marine engineer and at least two to three years of marine surveyor experience.
- Sailing experience is an advantage.
- Valid UAE driving license and strong knowledge of hull and machinery.
- Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
