Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of 9 or more engineers building and maintaining software solutions.
• Manage timelines and priorities and ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure delivery.
• Foster collaboration, continuous learning, and adoption of new technologies and practices.
• Resolve technical challenges and guide team members.
• Manage performance and career development through expectations, feedback, reviews, and coaching.
• Hire and onboard engineers, conduct interviews, calibrate hiring standards, and support early-career engineers.
• Coordinate with product, design, and engineering leadership across global offices; communicate status, risks, and trade-offs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of engineering management experience; managing or growing a team of 8 or more is ideal.
• Daily hands-on use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor, with experience driving AI-assisted development practices.
• Experience hiring, onboarding, and developing engineers, including mentoring early-career engineers.
• At least 8 years of software engineering experience and a strong full-stack background.
• Technical foundation to guide architecture decisions and assess trade-offs; deep expertise in every stack layer is not required.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams across time zones.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
