Role mandate

Hands-on MarTech operations leadership ensuring marketing platforms, tracking, data flows and integrations are reliable, observable and ready to scale.

Own day-to-day operational health across web, app, CRM and analytics touchpoints; translate marketing needs into technical work and resolve or coordinate incidents.

This is a technical and operational enablement role, not campaign management.

Platform operations and tracking

  • Own operational health of tracking, tags, SDKs, APIs, audience/data flows, product feeds and platform configurations.
  • Define service health indicators, monitoring, alerting and dashboards for critical customer and campaign data flows.
  • Coordinate incident triage, impact assessment, stakeholder communication, root-cause analysis and lasting corrective actions.
  • Maintain registers of defects, recurring issues, technical debt and reliability risks.
  • Govern web and app tracking, event taxonomy, data-layer requirements, consent dependencies and release validation.
  • Partner with Analytics to validate events, parameters, identities and conversion signals for reporting and activation.

Data, integrations and delivery

  • Establish pre- and post-release quality checks, reconciliation and exception handling; diagnose discrepancies and coordinate remediation.
  • Manage requirements for integrations and recurring feeds supporting audiences, content, campaigns and measurement.
  • Document source-to-target mappings, refresh frequency, dependencies, failure handling, ownership and support paths.
  • Work with Product and Engineering on APIs, SDKs and platform enhancements; provide clear requirements and acceptance criteria and implement configurations where appropriate.
  • Structure and prioritize the MarTech backlog, drive delivery, manage dependencies and escalate blocked work.
  • Coordinate release readiness, testing evidence, rollback considerations, business sign-off and production handover.

Controls and stakeholders

  • Maintain SOPs, runbooks, architecture/data-flow views, configuration records and troubleshooting guides.
  • Define access, change and environment controls with Security, Privacy and Technology teams; hold service reviews on reliability, data quality, backlog, incidents and technical debt.
  • Build reusable standards for multiple brands and markets and reduce reliance on individual knowledge.
  • Manage MarTech vendors and implementation partners against agreed scope, service levels and quality expectations.
  • Bridge Marketing, CRM, Loyalty, Analytics, Product and Engineering; communicate technical impact, options, owners, decisions and recovery plans in clear business language.

Experience and education

  • 5–7+ years in MarTech operations, digital analytics implementation, marketing technology, ecommerce technology or a related field.
  • Experience owning production tracking, data flows, integrations or platform operations in a complex digital environment.
  • Hands-on work with Engineering or Product teams on web/app releases, SDKs, APIs, tags or event instrumentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, analytics, information systems, marketing technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ecommerce, retail, loyalty or multi-brand/multi-market operations experience is preferred.

Technical and functional skills

  • Strong working knowledge of analytics and tag-management concepts; GA4, GTM, Firebase, Branch or comparable tools are relevant examples.
  • Understanding of event schemas, data layers, identity signals, APIs, JSON, batch/real-time data flows, catalog/product feeds and integrations.
  • Debugging, validation and monitoring methods to isolate tracking or data-quality issues.
  • HTML, JavaScript, SQL or API testing knowledge is advantageous.
  • Requirements definition, acceptance criteria, UAT, incident management, root-cause analysis and technical documentation skills.
  • Stakeholder management and confidence to challenge delivery plans and drive decisions.

Leadership capabilities

Acts as an owner and problem-solver, balancing urgency with disciplined change control and operational integrity.

Brings structure to ambiguous technical issues and communicates impact, risk and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Builds trust through transparency, follow-through and evidence-based reporting.

Key stakeholders

Internal stakeholders include CRM, Loyalty, Digital Marketing, Ecommerce, Analytics, Product, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Privacy and market/brand teams.

External stakeholders include MarTech platform providers, systems integrators, implementation partners and specialist agencies.
