Role overview
The Business Excellence Manager drives organization-wide continuous improvement through the development, coaching, and governance of the Process Champion network.
The role partners with business functions to identify, prioritize, and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, effectiveness, performance, and continuous-improvement culture.
Continuous improvement
- Lead Lean and structured problem-solving initiatives; coach Process Champions and support cross-functional projects through sustainable implementation.
- Promote continuous improvement and partner with Internal Audit to evaluate processes for policy compliance and risk mitigation.
Process Champion program
- Manage and develop the Process Champion network; design and deliver capability programs, workshops, and coaching.
- Monitor champion performance against KPIs and annual objectives; coordinate engagement, recognition, and certification initiatives.
Governance and performance
- Maintain project tracking and reporting; monitor progress, risks, and realized benefits.
- Ensure consistent use of Business Excellence methods, standards, and governance; guide process documentation, SOPs, and improvement submissions.
- Inform strategy with performance-gap intelligence, industry benchmarking, and capability-needs assessment.
Systems and innovation
- Support tools, systems, and frameworks for process excellence and performance improvement.
- Identify opportunities to use data analytics, automation, and AI to improve processes and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or a related discipline.
- Eight to ten years of experience in business excellence, operational excellence, continuous improvement, process improvement, or transformation roles.
- Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies, process management, and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Experience facilitating workshops and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across multiple business functions.
- Experience with process mapping and process improvement tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification is preferred.
