Role overview

Site logistics and resources

• Implement site logistics layouts and laydown plans; allocate contractor areas and feed site changes to logistics management.
• Plan labour and plant allocation through Foremen and optimize resource use.
• Coordinate just-in-time deliveries, site access, gate passes, offloading, and storage, including oversized and critical items.
• Anticipate material requirements and raise purchase requests for logistics consumables.

Lifting, traffic, and safety

• Coordinate lifting activity and manage hoists, ramps, routes, cranes, forklifts, and telehandlers.
• Verify current lift plans, certificates, examinations, inspections, and daily checks; quarantine defective equipment.
• Ensure safe ground and access conditions and implement traffic plans, flagging, signage, barriers, exclusion zones, and pedestrian/vehicle separation.
• Lead briefings, toolbox talks, and DSTI sessions; ensure method statements are communicated to ground teams.
• Conduct inspections and audits, close corrective actions, investigate incidents and near misses, and manage operational changes.

Operations and reporting

• Manage waste under the project waste plan and support improvement pilots.
• Oversee welfare areas and diesel logs; coordinate plant servicing, breakdowns, deliveries, and off-hiring with suppliers and project teams.
• Monitor use of the Load Gate app and train Foremen, Operators, Riggers, and Drivers.
• Track plant utilization, fuel, and lifting equipment; review records, identify idle plant and savings, and verify data for cost control and contra charging.
• Lead daily and weekly look-ahead meetings and report delays, access issues, resource constraints, and risks.
• Coach Foremen, set expectations, contribute to reviews, capture lessons, and implement improvements.

Essential skills

• Strong communication, coordination, stakeholder management, leadership, and foreman supervision skills.
• Site logistics knowledge covering deliveries, material movement, laydown, access, offloading, and traffic control; working knowledge of project waste plans.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and strong understanding of safety and environmental requirements.
• Commercial awareness of plant, fuel, and labour costs; detail orientation, problem-solving, and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to adopt digital systems and encourage team adoption; proficiency in MS Office and reporting tools.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree/diploma in an appropriate discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• At least 5 years in construction logistics, material movement, or site operations, including experience as a Logistics Engineer (Junior), Logistics Foreman, Lift Supervisor, or equivalent.
• Rigging, crane operations, traffic management, related training, other digital logistics platforms, construction/MEP experience, and LEED/Estidama awareness are desirable; Lift Supervisor certification is a plus.
