Experience and qualifications
- Minimum five years of lifting and rigging experience, including at least three years in a supervisory position.
- A recognized Lifting Supervisor or Rigging certification is required.
- A technical diploma or relevant technical certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of lifting plans, crane load charts, rigging equipment, and lifting operations is required.
- Experience coordinating crane operators, riggers, and signalmen is required.
- Knowledge of equipment certification and inspections, risk assessments, and safe lifting practices is required.
- Familiarity with QatarEnergy and Oil & Gas site HSE requirements is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and safety management skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise project-site lifting and rigging operations; verify compliance with lift plans, risk assessments, method statements, and permit requirements.
- Verify crane configurations, load charts, capacities, rigging arrangements, and ground conditions before lifting.
- Coordinate crane operators, riggers, signalmen or banksmen, and other personnel; ensure exclusion zones, barricades, communications, and safety precautions are in place.
- Check lifting equipment certifications and inspection records; conduct pre-lift briefings and toolbox talks.
- Monitor compliance with procedures and site HSE requirements; stop unsafe work and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and HSE teams; maintain equipment registers, inspection records, permits, and lifting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy requirements, applicable lifting standards, and project safety procedures.
