Drawlines Consult WLL seeks an experienced Heavy Lifting Supervisor / Coordinator for an oil and gas project in Ras Laffan, Qatar.
The role oversees complex lifting operations, lifting personnel and equipment, and compliance with approved plans and safety standards.
Lifting operations
- Supervise and coordinate complex heavy lifting operations at the project site.
- Plan, organize and monitor activities against approved lifting plans and method statements.
- Coordinate lifting personnel, crane operators, riggers, signalers and relevant teams.
- Verify equipment inspection, certification and suitability for planned lifts.
- Check lifting plans, load weights, crane capacities, rigging arrangements and ground conditions before operations.
- Conduct risk assessments, pre-lift briefings and toolbox talks; monitor operations and intervene when unsafe conditions arise.
- Coordinate with project engineers, construction teams, HSE personnel and stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot lifting issues, maintain records and support safe, efficient delivery to schedule.
Qualifications and experience
- At least 10 years of oil and gas industry experience, including relevant heavy lifting experience.
- Valid Heavy Lifting Supervisor or Lifting Coordinator certification.
- Valid and relevant certifications such as LEEA, OPITO or equivalent, as applicable.
- Strong experience with complex heavy lifts in industrial or oil and gas environments.
- Knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging, crane operations, lifting accessories, plans, method statements and risk assessments.
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements and safe lifting practices.
- Experience in major oil and gas facilities or industrial projects is preferred.
Contract and schedule
- Six-month contract, extendable based on project requirements.
- Working schedule is 10 hours per day, 6 days per week.
Work location
- Work location is Ras Laffan, Qatar; work is in person.
