HVAC Project Engineer

Role overview

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an HVAC specialization.
• Requires 8–10 years of similar-position experience; aluminium smelter experience is preferred.
• Requires 1–2 years of management or HVAC Project Engineer experience.

Job-specific skills

• Thorough knowledge of design, maintenance, and operation of industrial HVAC equipment; aluminium smelter experience is preferred.
• Organizational skills, computer literacy, and fluency in English.

Project delivery

• Oversee HVAC design, installation, and commissioning in line with specifications and best practices.
• Verify load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing for efficient performance, including data center and other systems.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and milestones.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, installation teams, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review drawings, material submittals, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Visit sites to assess project progress and resolve technical issues.

Installation, quality, and commissioning

• Direct installation teams and ensure work follows approved plans, engineering designs, standards, and safety requirements.
• Inspect HVAC installations for quality and safety compliance, including duct flow and chilled-water piping hydro tests.
• Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning, including testing, adjusting, and balancing air systems.
• Maintain progress reports, material inspection records, and final test reports for handover and compliance.

Safety and reporting

• Follow occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Prepare accurate departmental reports on time as requested by management.
