Position Overview

Engineering Leadership

• Organize and staff design and engineering functions in coordination with the Project Manager.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across telecommunications, platform screen door, and other railway system domains.
• Allocate responsibilities, establish engineering roles, and manage resources.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to system design engineers and designers.
• Manage engineering consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Design Quality and Review

• Establish and implement the Design Quality Assurance Plan with the QA/QC Manager and discipline leads.
• Ensure designs comply with contractual requirements, standards, codes, and Dubai regulatory requirements.
• Monitor design quality and consistency across deliverables.
• Oversee development and approval of design documents, technical specifications, drawings, and calculations.
• Support design approvals and reduce design-related change orders and rework.

Rail Telecommunications Systems

• Manage fiber optic transmission, IP/MPLS data networks, public address, passenger information, CCTV, telephone, and radio communication systems.
• Manage master clock, access control, data center and server infrastructure, network management, and telecommunications power supply systems.
• Define end-to-end telecom architecture, network topology, redundancy, resilience, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and scalability.
• Define and manage onboard telecommunication equipment.

Integration and System Engineering

• Manage subsystem integration, interface coordination, rolling stock integration, and RAMS considerations.
• Ensure integration between telecom systems and signalling, SCADA, platform screen door, rolling stock, OCC/BCC, civil, MEP, and depot systems.

Cybersecurity and Protection

• Ensure telecommunications systems comply with railway cybersecurity requirements.
• Review cybersecurity architecture and risk assessments.
• Support IEC 62443 requirements, ISO 27001 principles, network segmentation, access control, security monitoring, and incident response.
• Coordinate with Cybersecurity and System Assurance teams.

Schedule and Cost Control

• Ensure engineering outputs are delivered in accordance with the project schedule.
• Manage engineering resources to optimize cost and efficiency.
