Lead Architect

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the architectural design team and oversee project delivery.
• Manage projects from concept and schematic design through detailed design and construction documentation.
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, design reports, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, interior design, landscape, and other technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, codes, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities through the project lifecycle.
• Monitor progress, deliverables, deadlines, and design quality; mentor architects and junior team members.
• Attend client meetings and presentations, address technical queries, and support proposals and business development when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• 10–15 years of relevant architectural experience; architectural consultancy experience is preferred.
• Previous experience in a senior architectural or team leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building regulations and authority approvals, particularly in Abu Dhabi.
• Experience managing architectural teams, coordinating multidisciplinary projects, and working with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant architectural design software.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills; ability to manage multiple projects and strict deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience on residential, commercial, mixed-use, or high-rise developments.
• Knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority approval processes and applicable building codes.
• Professional registration or eligibility for registration with relevant UAE authorities, where applicable.
• Experience at an established engineering or architectural consultancy in the UAE.
