A ready-mix concrete company based in Dubai seeks an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee laboratory operations, concrete quality and compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Laboratory and quality responsibilities
- Manage daily laboratory operations and supervise laboratory technicians and quality control personnel.
- Oversee testing of fresh and hardened concrete, cement, aggregates and other construction materials.
- Ensure concrete mixes meet approved mix designs, project specifications and quality standards.
- Develop, review and optimize concrete mix designs to meet performance and strength requirements.
- Monitor quality control procedures, test results and laboratory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ASTM, BS, EN and relevant local standards.
Coordination and reporting
- Coordinate quality matters with production, batching plant, site teams, consultants and clients.
- Investigate quality issues, non-conformities and customer complaints, then implement corrective actions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration records, testing procedures and safety standards.
- Prepare quality reports and support audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field.
- Proven laboratory management or senior quality control experience in the ready-mix concrete industry.
- Strong knowledge of concrete technology, mix design, material testing and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with ASTM, BS, EN and relevant UAE construction standards.
- Experience managing laboratory teams and coordinating with batching plant operations.
- Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 10,000 to AED 10,001 per month.
