The employer seeks an experienced Chinese Head Chef to lead kitchen operations for an offshore catering facility.
The role requires expertise in Chinese cuisine, kitchen-team management, and maintaining food quality and hygiene in a demanding offshore environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the Chinese kitchen team and daily food production.
- Prepare and oversee authentic Chinese dishes for high-volume catering operations.
- Plan menus and ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Manage food preparation, cooking, portion control, and kitchen workflow.
- Monitor food stocks, ingredients, and wastage.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Train and supervise Chinese kitchen staff and maintain kitchen discipline.
- Coordinate with the Executive Chef and catering management to meet daily requirements.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and safety; ensure efficient operations during peak meal periods.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chinese Head Chef, Chinese Executive Chef, or Senior Chinese Chef.
- Strong knowledge of authentic Chinese cuisine and previous kitchen-team management experience.
- Offshore, remote-site, camp, or large-scale catering experience is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and multicultural catering environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- UAE or GCC offshore catering experience is an advantage.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 20,000–22,000 per month.
Workplace and employment
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Work location: In person; the role is based at an offshore catering facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
