Supports kitchen operations through food preparation, basic cooking, and equipment upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
- Follow standard recipes and portion ingredients.
- Help chefs during busy service periods.
- Keep equipment in good working order and report faults or maintenance needs.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards; clean work areas and utensils.
- Work with kitchen and service teams to support a consistent, high-quality guest dining experience.
Qualifications and working conditions
- Strong food-preparation and basic cooking skills, including recipe following and portion control.
- Knowledge of hygiene, food safety, sanitation, and local health regulations.
- Communicate effectively with chefs, kitchen staff, and service teams; understand the impact of kitchen operations on guests.
- Previous hotel or restaurant kitchen experience is preferred.
- Able to work in a fast-paced setting, stand for extended periods, and lift or move supplies.
- Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
- Basic kitchen-equipment knowledge and readiness to follow safety and maintenance-reporting procedures.
