Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience as a steward in a four-star hotel.
- One year of stewarding experience is separately listed as preferred.
Cleaning and sanitation
- Clean and sanitize hotel crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, kitchen tools, and other items as instructed by a superior.
- Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness in kitchens, dishwashing, and back-of-house areas.
- Clean and scrub kitchens and dishwashing areas, and wash cooking utensils and equipment.
- Wash and store chinaware, cutlery, silverware, and other food and beverage items.
Operational support
- Support kitchen and restaurant back-of-house operations to help achieve efficient service delivery.
- Collect and store garbage.
- Assist with stocktaking and handling breakages.
- Follow departmental cleaning schedules and procedures.
- Carry out routine maintenance as directed by the Chief Steward or Assistant Chief Steward.
Workplace expectations
Maintain high personal hygiene and contribute to a positive, professional climate.
Reports to the Steward Supervisor.
