The Kitchen Helper supports daily food preparation, cleaning, and kitchen hygiene.
The role assists chefs with basic preparation and helps keep ingredients and equipment ready for service.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
- Prepare salads, sandwiches, sauces, and other basic items as instructed by chefs.
- Clean and sanitize utensils, cookware, equipment, and workstations.
- Keep kitchen, storage, and food preparation areas clean and organized.
- Store, label, and rotate food using FIFO procedures.
- Receive, check, and store deliveries; refill kitchen station supplies.
- Dispose of waste properly and follow waste-segregation procedures.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
- Support dishwashing and maintain clean kitchenware.
- Help chefs during busy service periods and perform other assigned kitchen duties.
- Handle equipment and cleaning chemicals safely; report damaged equipment, low stock, and hygiene concerns.
Qualifications and experience
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene is required.
- Candidates should follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Candidates should be physically fit, able to stand for extended periods, and able to handle kitchen duties.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays is required.
- Basic English communication skills are preferred.
- Previous café, restaurant, hotel, or commercial-kitchen experience is an advantage.
- Food safety or hygiene training is an advantage.
Pay
- The description lists pay of QAR 1.00–QAR 3.00 per month.
