Support the Finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations.
The role calls for a solid understanding of accounting principles, analytical ability, and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accounting records and documentation; process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and record journal entries; reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger accounts.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closes; assist with financial and management reports.
- Monitor expenses, invoices, and payments, and record transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist with VAT filings, regulatory reporting, and audit schedules and documentation.
- Maintain organized accounting files and collaborate with departments to resolve finance queries.
- Assist in preparing and consolidating budgets for individual business units.
Qualifications and experience
- CA (Inter) part-qualified, or ACCA/CMA qualification, is preferred.
- 2–3 years of accounting or finance experience, or experience gained at an audit firm.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on ERP or accounting system experience is required; examples include SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho Books, and QuickBooks.
- VAT regulations and financial controls knowledge is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
