IT Applications Lead Engineer

Purpose of the job

Job responsibilities

• Research and benchmark IT application operations trends and standards; assess the current model, identify gaps, and define an operations model aligned with IT strategy and business objectives.
• Collect operational inputs and engage business owners to understand needs and develop effective application operations.
• Handle and prioritize application incidents by criticality and recommend corrective actions with stakeholders in line with SLAs and KPIs.
• Identify production outages and escalations, diagnose root causes with stakeholders, and implement resolutions.
• Plan proactive and preventive maintenance with relevant IT functions, ensure execution, and update application documentation.
• Review application change requests, analyze operational impact, and provide recommendations.
• Monitor application workflows and health, recommend performance and hardware improvements, and optimize resources against objectives and KPIs.
• Follow relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Help resolve escalated problems and support junior team members; escalate complex problems for closure.
• Document incident and ticket solutions and provide periodic performance reports with recommendations and corrective actions.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent is required.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience.
