Role overview

Training delivery

• Deliver training under applicable IRATA requirements and approved procedures, covering techniques, equipment, work positioning, ascent and descent, rigging, and safe working practices.
• Demonstrate ropes, harnesses, descenders, ascenders, connectors, anchors, and other equipment; supervise practical exercises.
• Teach rope access principles, hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe systems of work, adapting methods to trainee needs.
• Deliver rescue, emergency response, and casualty recovery instruction, including rigging arrangements, hauling systems, and equipment selection.

Safety and trainee development

• Check equipment before use, identify unsafe practices, intervene as needed, and keep training within established risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and coaching, identify improvement needs, and prepare candidates for independent assessment.
• Maintain attendance, progress reports, training records, and required documentation; coordinate trainee needs with training management.

Equipment and compliance

• Inspect, store, and maintain ropes, harnesses, connectors, rescue equipment, training structures, rigging arrangements, and practical areas.
• Comply with IRATA TACS and ICOP, maintain familiarity with updated guidance, and support quality assurance activities and audits.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and coordinate course delivery with the training team.

Requirements

• Valid IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician certification is strongly preferred and expected for advanced instruction, subject to applicable authorization requirements.
• Proven industrial rope access experience; previous rope access training or coaching experience is highly desirable.
• Strong practical knowledge of rope access techniques, rigging, rescue procedures, and work-at-height safety; good understanding of IRATA TACS and ICOP.
• Clear technical instruction, communication, leadership, trainee management, attention to detail, and proactive risk management.
• Experience maintaining training, equipment inspection, and safety records.
• Trainer qualifications or applicable IRATA authorization are an advantage; good command of English is required and additional languages are an advantage.
• UAE experience is preferred; immediate availability is an advantage.
