Role overview

Drawing production and coordination

• Prepare shop, construction, and as-built drawings for roads, pavements, earthworks, drainage, sewerage, water, and utility networks.
• Develop plans and profiles, cross-sections, longitudinal sections, grading and levelling plans, and setting-out drawings.
• Prepare composite utility drawings for water, sewer, storm water, electrical, telecom, gas, and street lighting networks; identify and resolve clashes.
• Draft traffic diversion and temporary traffic management drawings.
• Produce drawings to meet UAE authority and master developer requirements, including RTA, DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Etisalat/du, and Empower.

Revisions, handover, and teamwork

• Convert survey data and engineer mark-ups into CAD drawings; update drawings for site changes, RFIs, and consultant comments.
• Incorporate consultant and authority comments and resubmit within agreed timelines.
• Prepare quantity take-offs to support QS and planning teams; maintain drawing registers, revision control, and file management.
• Coordinate with project engineers, surveyors, site engineers, and consultants to ensure accuracy and constructability.
• Prepare as-built drawings and NOC/handover packages for approvals and project closeout.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or ITI in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting, or an equivalent technical qualification.
• At least 5 years of drafting experience, including at least 3 years on UAE infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Civil 3D is highly preferred.
• MicroStation, GIS, or BIM tools such as Revit or Navisworks are an advantage.
• Good understanding of UAE authority standards and submission requirements.
• Ability to interpret survey data, design drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Experience preparing roads, utilities, and drainage drawings and coordinating utilities.
• Basic knowledge of quantity take-offs from drawings.
