Position purpose
Perform preventive maintenance for allotted guest rooms and public-area quotas.
Assist with other maintenance work and handle air-conditioning and refrigeration requests and work orders.
Maintenance and equipment
- Maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems in guest rooms and public areas under the preventive maintenance program.
- Complete repairs, alterations, and installations of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and controls.
- Keep equipment and tools in good order, organize stores, and maintain a clean, stocked workshop.
- Control spare parts, initiate workshop supply orders, and record completed work.
- Report building and equipment conditions to the Assistant Director of Engineering.
- Record cold temperatures each shift and adjust equipment to maintain specified conditions.
Operations, training, and sustainability
- Support contractors during equipment installation when required and assist other trades as directed.
- Attend technical training and apply new technology and products in line with hotel standards.
- Support training programs and energy-saving plans, including the hotel's environmental policy and Marriott's 30/20 plan.
- Seek technology that supports energy-saving goals and participate in community activities.
Safety and service standards
- Use safe work practices to protect guests, employees, equipment, and property.
- Follow scheduled control measures and risk assessment actions, including Legionella controls and fire prevention and evacuation procedures.
- Show guest-service commitment, attention to detail, teamwork, ethical conduct, and professional presentation.
Education
- A technical degree is required.
