Support day-to-day operations of the staff cafeteria while monitoring food safety, hygiene, and sanitation before, during, and after service.
Inspect cafeteria premises and report maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cafeteria cleanliness, hygiene, appearance, and organized service areas.
- Inspect premises daily and report hygiene, maintenance, and safety concerns.
- Maintain required health, safety, and sanitation records.
- Assist associates with requests and concerns in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain cafeteria mise en place.
- Monitor supplies and inventory to maintain adequate stock and reduce overstocking and waste.
- Check food quality and expiry dates; use the FIFO inventory system.
- Promptly report shortages, damaged items, and expired products.
- Support daily cafeteria operations and provide operational support during the supervisor's absence.
- Maintain cafeteria equipment, utensils, and service areas in clean, organized, working condition.
- Follow hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and food-handling procedures.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Food safety and hygiene knowledge is required.
- Good English communication skills are required.
- Basic computer and MS Office skills are required.
- Must be able to work under pressure and handle large numbers of people daily.
- Must be able to work extra hours if required.
Education and physical requirements
- High school education.
- The role often requires extended standing or walking, bending, reaching, or lifting.
- The role requires operating computers and computerized equipment.
