Position purpose
Oversee room attendants and public-area attendants, helping the team meet operational and financial targets while maintaining hotel cleanliness and maintenance standards.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise attendants to ensure hotel standards are met; communicate with and coach the team.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel operations and prepare morning task assignments and turndown reports.
- Coordinate with operating departments, guests, and Housekeeping colleagues; follow up on special guest requests.
- Control the assigned area and rotate between housekeeping areas and shifts as needed.
- Perform hands-on cleaning in rooms and public areas when needed; conduct daily team meetings.
- Follow up on lost property, guest laundry, special requests, and flower orders.
- Lead by example and help motivate and develop associates.
Experience and skills
- Previous minor supervisory experience within a hotel Housekeeping Department.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills and strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Computer literacy and Opera experience are advantageous.
- Guest-service orientation, attention to detail, teamwork, and a hands-on approach are expected.
Education and physical requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy objects, climb stairs, perform high-cleaning tasks, and walk for long periods.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varied temperatures and weather conditions and tolerate personal protective equipment.
