Role overview
Lead HVAC design, installation, commissioning, configuration, and continuous operation for new and existing data centers.
Maintain customer SLA conditions by controlling data center temperature and humidity while meeting operational and energy-efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on HVAC performance and standards.
- Oversee CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and control systems.
- Implement preventive maintenance and assess infrastructure condition and improvement needs.
- Develop energy-efficient cooling strategies with facilities and engineering teams.
- Respond to alarms and incidents, troubleshoot faults, minimize downtime, and document root cause analysis.
Experience and qualifications
- Expertise in cooling systems such as chillers, air handlers, and CRAC/CRAH units; strong mechanical diagnosis and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of energy-efficiency strategies and PUE/WUE metrics.
- Familiarity with BMS and DCIM tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and commitment to operational reliability.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team in HVAC engineering best practices.
- An industry qualification such as CDCDP or ATD is desirable; an IOSH health and safety qualification is preferred.
