HSE Manager role in the Oil & Gas industry, based in Qatar.
Manages health, safety and environmental activities and ensures compliance with project requirements, client standards and applicable safety regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor HSE policies, plans and procedures; ensure compliance with Qatar regulations, client requirements and Oil & Gas safety standards.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments; monitor permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, incident reporting and investigations.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions; lead HSE officers and site safety teams.
- Coordinate HSE matters with project management, clients and subcontractors; prepare reports, maintain documentation and monitor safety performance.
- Ensure emergency response plans and safety training programs are implemented, and promote a strong safety culture across the project site.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant HSE experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including previous experience as an HSE Manager on Oil & Gas projects.
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory; additional safety certifications are an advantage.
- Previous Qatar Oil & Gas project experience is preferred.
Knowledge and capabilities
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, incident investigation, permit-to-work systems and HSE management systems.
- Leadership, communication and reporting skills, with ability to manage HSE teams and coordinate with clients and project stakeholders.
