Guest welcome and seating
- Welcome arriving guests professionally and acknowledge departing guests courteously.
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, table allocation, seating flow, and wait-time updates.
- Coordinate arrivals and seating with managers and service staff, particularly during busy periods.
Guest communication and service support
- Answer guest calls and basic enquiries; escort guests to tables and present menus where needed.
- Communicate guest requests, preferences, special occasions, and seating needs to the floor team.
- Escalate complaints, dissatisfaction, and operational issues to the manager on duty.
Standards and success measures
- Keep the host stand, entrance, and waiting area clean, organized, and guest-ready.
- Maintain professional grooming, punctuality, brand representation, accurate reservation records, and organized guest notes.
- Success measures include guest welcome quality, reservation and seating accuracy, team coordination, and presentation standards.
Candidate requirements
- 1–3 years’ experience in a host/hostess, reception, guest-facing, or front-of-house role in hospitality, restaurant, café, or hotel environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and confident guest-facing manner.
- Remain calm, organized, and professional under pressure during busy service periods.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Reservation-platform or booking-system experience is an advantage.
