Role overview
The Head Hostess welcomes guests and oversees hosting and front-of-house coordination at a restaurant or venue.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and seat them promptly and comfortably; manage reservations, waitlists, seating, booking systems, and walk-ins.
- Resolve guest concerns and maintain a polished first impression.
- Supervise, coordinate, and train the host team; assign and monitor tasks.
- Coordinate guest flow with servers, bartenders, and management.
- Maintain floor plans, track table turnover, and balance seating to support timely service.
What the employer is looking for
- At least two years of similar restaurant or hospitality experience and fluent English.
- High school diploma or equivalent; strong interpersonal skills and a warm, approachable manner.
- Professional appearance and presentation; familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to upsell and explain menu items; proactive teamwork, time management, and leadership potential.
- Russian or another European language is an advantage.
