Role Description The General Manager (GM) is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the SDC SNIST Student Chapter.
The GM will coordinate cross-functional teams, plan and execute chapter initiatives, and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and objectives.
Daily tasks include managing schedules and timelines, organizing events and workshops, monitoring project progress, and ensuring effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
The GM will handle basic budgeting and resource allocation, maintain documentation and reports, and support the development of partnerships with external organizations and mentors.
The role also involves tracking key performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment for all members.
Qualifications
- Leadership and management skills, including team coordination, delegation, and decision-making.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a part-time, remote setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Basic understanding or interest in technology domains such as web development, app development, UI/UX, cybersecurity, or AI.
- Experience in event planning, student organizations, or community management is highly beneficial.
- Ability to use collaboration tools (e.g., project management platforms, video conferencing, shared documents) effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive, initiative-driven approach.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Management, or related disciplines) is preferred.
