Full Stack Java Developer

Role overview

Application development

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications and web-based solutions.
• Gather and document business and technical requirements, translating them into specifications, user stories, and sprint backlogs.
• Build reusable, maintainable code, REST APIs, microservices, and scalable backend services.
• Integrate third-party applications, APIs, and external services.

Testing and system support

• Create and execute unit, integration, and system tests; debug, troubleshoot, and investigate root causes.
• Automate testing, document results, and verify functional and non-functional requirements.
• Maintain performance, scalability, availability, and reliability; optimize queries, applications, and system resources.
• Support production deployments and incidents; perform benchmarking, performance tuning, and capacity analysis.

Collaboration and delivery

• Work with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, UX designers, and development teams.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Deliver features on schedule and contribute to CI/CD, technical documentation, coding standards, and security practices.

Experience and technical qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Strong programming experience in at least one modern language; Java preferred, or Python, C#, or C++.
• Experience with web applications, REST APIs, microservices, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Relational database experience and SQL development, analysis, and query optimization; Linux/Unix and shell scripting experience.
• Backend expertise in Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, and Maven or Gradle.
• Cloud expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus, and Git.

Education and preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical software development experience may be considered.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, adaptability, and decision-making abilities are required.
• Financial services, banking, FinTech, or capital markets experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, automated testing, cloud-native development, and secure coding is preferred or described as exposure.
