Position and purpose
Estimation Engineer – Trading, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, technical evaluations, and techno-commercial proposals for tenders and projects in oil & gas, marine, industrial, and related sectors.
Responsibilities
- Review RFQs, tender documents, specifications, drawings, BOQs, and client requirements; prepare cost estimates, quotations, and proposals.
- Identify vendors, request quotations, evaluate supplier offers technically and commercially, and prepare comparative statements to support selection.
- Coordinate with Procurement and Sales on pricing and compliance; prepare compliance statements, bid clarifications, and deviation lists.
- Maintain costing databases, vendor contacts, and reference prices; track quotations and follow up on bid status.
- Support technical and commercial negotiations and assist with project handover after order award.
- Ensure estimates comply with client specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Two to three years of relevant experience in estimation, proposals, tendering, or project engineering.
- Experience in oil & gas, marine, industrial, or engineering trading is preferred.
- Experience with electrical products, actuators, battery systems, instrumentation and control spares, cables, or related industrial products is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of technical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and RFQs; good estimation, costing, and quotation preparation skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, and good communication and coordination skills.
- UAE/GCC experience and early joining availability are preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is up to AED 4,000 per month.
