Design and Estimation Engineer - LV Switchgear & Industrial Automation

Design, estimation, and documentation
- Prepare designs and estimates for LV switchgear panels including MDB, SMDB, MCC, DB, ATS, APFC, and control panels.
- Handle design and estimation for industrial automation projects involving PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, and instrumentation.
- Review client specifications, SLDs, P&IDs, BOQs, datasheets, and tender documents; prepare technical and commercial quotations.
- Prepare panel GA drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, system architecture drawings, PLC I/O lists, schedules, and BOMs.
- Prepare electrical schematics and panel documents in EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD; select suitable electrical and automation components.
- Prepare load, busbar sizing, and basic short-circuit calculations; produce compliance statements, deviation lists, and technical submittals.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal sales, procurement, production, project, and site teams.
- Review client comments, revise documents, and ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable IEC standards.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related Engineering; the posting separately states that a bachelor's degree is required.
- 2–5 years of experience in LV switchgear and/or industrial automation design and estimation.
- Good knowledge of LV panels, PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, control systems, switchgear components, protection devices, and automation products.
- Good working knowledge of EPLAN Electric P8 and good knowledge of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Ability to prepare schematics, terminal diagrams, cable schedules, device lists, and panel documentation in EPLAN.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel for costing and estimation; ability to read SLDs, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of IEC standards and good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Experience with ABB, Schneider, Siemens, Eaton, Rockwell, Honeywell, or similar brands is preferred.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Water, Utilities, Infrastructure, or EPC projects is preferred.
Pay
- Pay is up to AED 7,000 per month.
