The team is building an intelligent enterprise-services platform to support ByteDance's global growth and operations, guided by an AI-first approach.

The project internship offers hands-on experience on short-term projects in a professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to backend services and the Agent runtime, focusing on code quality, readability, and maintainability; assist with performance and stability tuning.
- Help integrate internal enterprise systems into Agents using Tools, MCP, CLI, or A2A.
- Participate in code reviews and follow team coding standards and architectural conventions.
- Write clear, AI-friendly technical documentation and contribute to the team knowledge base.
- Explore AI capabilities in backend services and support AI-driven feature development, evaluation, and validation.
Minimum qualifications
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, AI, Information Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Available to start immediately, ideally within one week.
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and computer systems, with strong coding habits.
- Proficient in one or more of Golang, Java, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems and microservice architecture.
- Familiarity with or hands-on experience in Agent patterns such as reasoning, memory management, and multi-Agent collaboration.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, and genuine interest in Agent engineering.
Preferred qualifications
- Contributed to building an AI product, Agent, or application for real-world users and can explain its positioning, technology choices, user scale, and iteration process.
- Hands-on experience with mainstream Agent frameworks, Prompt Engineering, Harness Engineering, Context Management, and Evaluation.
