Engineering Technician

Position summary

Maintenance duties

• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication; inspect tools, equipment, and machines; and operate equipment and building utility shut-offs.
• Maintain inventory and requisition supplies, and communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts.
• Perform basic work across air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
• Prepare surfaces and paint; make minor drywall and wood-trim repairs; replace light bulbs and A/C filters; and clean repair areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and make basic repairs to equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, and internet devices.
• Program televisions and perform housekeeping and engineering inventory duties.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance; repair landscaping and sprinkler systems; and use computers to input air-handler schedules and adjust temperatures.

Qualifications

• A driver's license is required.
• Some general maintenance and surface preparation or painting experience is preferred; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.

• Follow safety and security policies, report maintenance problems and incidents, complete safety training, and properly store flammable materials.
• Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and provide courteous guest service.
• Meet quality standards, communicate clearly, maintain positive working relationships, and perform other reasonable duties as requested.
• Handle loads up to 50 pounds without assistance; heavier tasks require assistance. The role includes stairs, ramps, ladders, reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping.
