Full-time, non-management Commis II position in Food and Beverage & Culinary at Marriott Executive Apartments in Dubai.
The role prepares and cooks food while maintaining quality, presentation, and kitchen safety standards.
Kitchen duties
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing.
- Prepare and cook food, including cold foods, to recipes and preparation, quality, and presentation standards.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test doneness and check food and appliance temperatures.
- Monitor food quality, serve appropriate portions, and set up and break down the workstation.
- Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
Workplace and team duties
- Follow company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training.
- Maintain a professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and communicate clearly.
- Support team goals, maintain positive working relationships, respond to colleagues' concerns, and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications and physical demands
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of related work experience are listed as preferred qualifications.
- No supervisory experience or license or certification is specified.
- The role requires extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking; reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping; and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
