Role details

Maintenance responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including kitchen and mechanical-room equipment; inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
• Identify and operate equipment and building utility shutoff valves.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies; communicate daily activities and problems across shifts.
• Prepare and paint surfaces, make minor drywall and woodwork repairs, replace bulbs and air-conditioning filters, and clean repair areas.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guest-room items, and internet devices.
• Program televisions and complete general engineering maintenance and inventory tasks.
• Repair indoor and outdoor landscaping features and outdoor irrigation systems; perform basic computer and building-control tasks.

Safety and guest service

• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work; follow safety policies, report hazards and incidents, complete safety training, and store flammable materials appropriately.
• Meet quality standards, protect property and confidential information, and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and communicate professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Work positively with colleagues and support team goals; complete other reasonable duties as requested.

Required qualification

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• No supervisory experience is required.

Preferred qualifications and work capabilities

• A high school diploma/GED or vocational or technical training is preferred.
• General maintenance, surface preparation, and painting experience is desirable; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is valued.
• Basic knowledge or aptitude to learn HVAC/refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building operations.
• The work includes moving items, using stairs, ramps, or ladders, and reaching, bending, and lifting.
